We relinquished a bunch of impressive works: poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, and reviews. The pandemic situation badly affected our activities at ELJ. Moreover, during the initial two months (April and May 2020) of lockdown in India, we worked on Hibiscus, a global anthology of poems that “heal and empower.” The collection continues to fetch rave reviews, and we are delighted to have produced (thanks to Hawakal, our publishing partner) such a magnificent selection of poems in print.
We are back to action, finally, at ELJ. We have altered the frequency of publication. The Ethos Literary Journal will no longer remain a bi-annual (twice in a year) publication; ELJ (online) will be released semimonthly (twice in a month). We strongly believe this change will positively influence the immediacy index and motivate more writers and poets to submit.
So what are you waiting for? Please read the submission guidelines and send us your best work.
Poetry India July 2024
“As we dedicate the third edition of Poetry India to Surjit Patar whom we lost a few months ago, we remember this poem of his. A poem like this could only be written by a Surjit Patar…”
